Arnprior will be my sole focus. I will be present, accessible and working with Council and Town Staff every day.

A clear plan shaped by real conversations.

Over the past four months, I have quietly met face-to-face with residents, business owners, developers and community leaders.

I didn’t begin with a list of promises.

I began by asking questions and listening.

  • Practical growth - Downtown, gateways and tourism

An Every Day Mayor My central commitment is to make Arnprior my full-time focus and be present at Town Hall every day, working with Council and Town Staff and making myself available to the CAO, Developers, Business Owners and all residents.

Face-to-face conversations build trust, strengthen relationships and help us solve problems more effectively.

Every day, I want to ask one question that makes Arnprior a little better than it was yesterday.

My First 100 Days as Mayor

A Practical Plan for Arnprior’s Future

1. Responsible spending, taxes and long-term planning;

Arnprior has approximately $144 million in capital needs forecast over the next decade.

  • I will work with Council and staff to question costs, review priorities, pursue grants and ensure maximum value for every dollar spent.

  • I will not make an arbitrary tax promise before reviewing the complete financial picture. Plans must be monitored and adjusted as costs, funding and community needs change.

  • I will scrutinise the forecast, prior budgets, capital plan and all relevant financials to be fully prepared to deliver a budget in 2027.


2. Better infrastructure planning via stronger inter-governmental working relationships:

In order to achieve what we want for Arnprior, a close working relationship with the County and Province is essential. 

  • I will work diligently to create in-roads to develop close collaboration with those levels of government to ensure that The Town of Arnprior is  in lockstep with their short and long term planning and initiatives, allowing us further flexibility in decision making.


3. Responsible growth requires proper planning and clear communication:

  • I will meet directly and regularly with the CAO, Finance, Parks & Recreation, Building and Planning, Business Development,and Council.

  • I will collaborate closely with the Economic Development Officer to discuss strategy,  and pursue potential opportunities for attracting new industry and employers to Arnprior.

  • Consistent open dialogue with Developers and Community Organizations will provide understanding of what is working, where obstacles exist and what practical improvements can be made.

  • My door will always be open to residents and business owners for frank,honest and open discussion.


4. Focus on infrastructure:

I will focus on roads, sidewalks,exploring additional public transit options and making Arnprior more “walkable”, specifically;

  • Finding funds for better sidewalk repairs and snow removal

  • Prioritizing traffic lights on Madwaska at Moe Robillard and McNab

  • Expediting sidewalk completion on Baskin Drive

These will require close collaboration with the County, and revisiting the long term plan, but need to happen sooner rather than later.


5. Expanding and improving the services our growing community depends on by; 

  • Creating closer communication between Council and Arnprior Regional Health. I  will encourage members of council including myself to ensure that we have a representative at each monthly board meeting in order to be well informed on their initiatives and challenges and where we may be of assistance.

  • Proactively pursuing grants and funding opportunities for our Library, Museum and other community organizations.

  • Initiating affordable housing discussions with builders, developers and inter-governmental agencies.

  • Working closely with  Arnprior Recreation and Culture (https://www.arnprior.ca/recreation-and-culture/) to share ideas and requests from residents on areas of interest such as;

    • Indoor Sports Dome. I have done some preliminary research and will continue to investigate community demand, possible locations, construction and operating costs, grants, partnerships and the experience of other municipalities, in order to bring reliable information to Council and the community so we can decide whether the idea makes sense for Arnprior.

6. Give our residents a place to be proud of and our visitors reasons to stay, shop, eat and come back by;

  • Revitalizing and beautifying downtown by working on improved maintenance, better winter access conditions, attractive public spaces and practical ways to bring more people downtown.

  • Improving Arnprior’s gateway entrances which are the first impression of our community by working closely with By-Law to ensure property maintenance standards are adhered to and sign pollution is avoided.

  • Lighting and improving the Madawaska River bridge, I want to explore turning the bridge into an attractive, brightly lit feature that welcomes residents home and invites our visitors to enjoy all our town has to offer.

  • Working with Council and the Community to create a Town Square for public gatherings, seasonal festivities and recreation.

  • As the people come, the businesses and jobs will follow.

It sounds like a lot, because it is.

If elected these items will require my full attention and that it will get. My promise to you:

  • I will always be transparent and honest and fully adhere to the Town of Arnprior Code of Conduct.

  • I will collaborate with Council and staff with patience and respect and rigorously pursue consensus of the elected council in order to avoid the use of Strong Mayor powers.

  • The Mayor's Office will be open for business every day.

  • I will make mistakes, I will own them and I will learn from them.

My Vision for Arnprior

The world is changing economically, socially, and technologically faster than ever before. Communities that succeed will be the ones willing to adapt, think ahead, and embrace new opportunities while remaining financially responsible.

Arnprior already has everything needed to thrive:

  • A strong community

  • A beautiful waterfront

  • Local businesses and industry

  • Access to Ottawa

  • Incredible potential for future growth

We need leadership that plans ahead, listens to residents, respects taxpayers, and works every day to build a stronger future for our town. I believe Arnprior’s best years are still ahead of us.

A Mayor Working Every Day for Arnprior


Leadership is more than attending meetings. It means being available, responsive, and actively involved with residents, businesses, developers, community groups, and town staff every single day.

Arnprior deserves leadership that is:

  • Forward-thinking

I’m ready to make that full-time commitment to Arnprior.

We need leadership that thinks bigger, plans smarter, and understands that progress only happens when people are willing to work hard, stay optimistic, and believe in what a community can accomplish together. Arnprior deserves leadership that is present, engaged, forward-thinking, and committed every single day to building a stronger future.

Leadership is not only about managing today’s challenges; it is also about looking ahead at where this town needs to be 25 years from now. To achieve that kind of vision and progress, the role of Mayor must be treated as a full-time commitment.
